TL Audio Ivory 5051 Mono Tube Voice Processor

TL Audio Ivory 5051 Mono Tube Voice Processor

$999

The TL Audio 5051 is a single channel voice processor format that has become the accepted way of getting the most out of any sound source. The Ivory 5051 provides the perfect front end for any system by offering a combined preamp, compressor, equalizer, and noise gate, all in one easy-to-use package. There is also now an optional digital output. The 5051 compressor section is identical to that of the 5021 and includes hard/soft knee modes, and the four-band equalizer section is modeled on that of the legendary TL Audio EQ-1, yielding superb results instantly, with an improved optical gate for removing unwanted source noise. So whatever your source, let the 5051 unlock its true potential.The TL Audio 5051 voice processor features six valve stages, supplied by three twin triode ECC83/12AX7A valves running from a stabilized 150V DC power supply. One valve stage is located in the preamp, one in the compressor gain control circuit, and four in the equalizer section.About TL Audio TL Audio began manufacturing audio products in 1990, when the company - founded by Tony Larking - was largely involved in the restoration and re-selling of vintage equipment such as Neve and Trident recording consoles. The first TL Audio products were original Neve EQ modules, which were taken principally from broadcast consoles and re-packaged to make them suitable for music production studios. Shortly after this Tony Larking was introduced to David Kempson, a leading designer at Neve for nine years.By 1993 the demand for used valve outboard equipment had become very strong but most models such as the original Pultec and Fairchild valve devices were already extremely rare and expensive. There appeared an obvious gap in the market for brand new affordable valve products and the result was TL Audio's first valve product - the EQ-1 Dual Valve Equalizer. This product revolutionized the studio market by offering reliable, flexible, great sounding valve processing that was within the budget of most studios. The EQ-1 quickly attracted the interest of mainstream engineer/producers, with the first two production models going to Roy Thomas Baker (who had produced many of Queen and Foreigner's early recordings) and Chris Porter (who was working with George Michael and Take That).The EQ-1 was the first of what became known as the 'Classic' range, and was followed by what has become possibly TL Audio's best known product - the C-1 Dual Valve Compressor, which shot to stardom as Chris Fogel's mixdown compressor on Alanis Morissette's multi-million selling 'Jagged Little Pill' album. The Ivory SeriesWith the Classic range expanding to include more models, the growth in popularity of affordable digital recorders and mixers heightened the appetite for valve processing, which led to lower-cost ranges such as the Ivory models. Lexicon Pcm92 Reverb Effects Processor

$1799.95

This powerhouse Lexicon reverb uses the latest DSP technology and the finest collection of classic Lexicon algorithms to offer the ultimate audio processor for live sound and studio applications. With over four decades of experience, Lexicon is regarded as a standard in digital audio processing. Building on the similar design and technology of many Lexicon products, the PCM92 is one of the most advanced reverb and effects processors in its class.The rackmount Lexicon PCM92 reverb delivers 28 mono and stereo reverbs, delays, and modulation effects, flexible routing configurations, and a comprehensive collection of over 1200 finely crafted presets, including recognizable classics from an immense library of sounds.The Lexicon reverb features Hall, Concert Hall and Random Hall reverb algorithms that are consistently used by live sound and recording engineers because of their ability to reproduce the musical ambiance of large, wide, panoramically wonderful spaces. In fact, these classic Lexicon Hall algorithms have been used on more than 80% of all recorded music.Lexicon's Room algorithm offers an amazing palette of natural sounding rooms with all the inherent realism of the actual space. Reflection patterns are easily selected, scaled, and equalized all while simultaneously passing audio and the room size can be instantly changed or reversed. These capabilities provide a more flexible alternative to convolution type reverbs due to the precise control and manipulation that is only possible with a reverb synthesizer.One of the advances in this Lexicon reverb is the ability to create realistic small spaces. For both music and film production, it is often vital to have the ambience of a phone booth or very small drum room. In the Lexicon PCM92 you can create them with a reality never heard before from any processor other than a Lexicon.In addition, the PCM92 effect processor delivers capabilities to traditional reverbs by adding multimode filters in the audio flow. This allows more exact shaping of the reverb while still maintaining that distinctive smooth, rich "Lexicon Sound." Also, all reverbs have an "Infinite" switch that allows the reverb to run forever, which is useful for creating unusual backgrounds and sound effects.28 Lexicon studio-standard reverbs, delays, and modulation effectsComprehensive collection of over 1200 finely crafted factory presets, including recognizable classics from Lexicon's immense library of soundsLexicon's flexible Room algorithm used to generate a vast array of room-related effects for music and film productionMulti-voice pitch shift to enhance vocalsFull system configuration and control with HiQnet System Architect44.1 to 96 kHz sample rate, 32-bit floating point processingTwo channels balanced analog I/O (XLR and 1/4")Two channels XLR digital AES/EBU I/OEthernet connectivity and full MIDI controlExternal BNC Word ClockFoot controller inputs make it easy to change presets and adjust parameters during live performancesH

Mu Technologies Mu Voice Vocal Plug-In

Mu Technologies Mu Voice Vocal Plug-In

$279

The Mu Voice plug-in from Mu Technologies tunes your vocal recordings, applies special effects, and adds natural-sounding harmonies to your tracks when you're mixing. The proprietary spectral analysis and synthesis techniques of Mu Technologies provide a unique vocal processing tool for your recording studio. An internal delay of only 5.8ms makes Mu Voice an ideal vocal processor to perform live on stage.Intelligent HarmonizingMu Voice has an intelligent harmonizer that takes the musical context of a piece into account, such as chord and scale information. A 4-track mixer allows you to configure the voicing (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th voice) and octave for each channel. Scale/Chord SelectionThe chord panel offers a straightforward interface to select chords. When a given key signature is selected, the diatonic series of chords is displayed. By clicking the chords and modifiers, a chord is selected for harmonization. Chord Scheme EditingChords can be added to a scheme by pressing the Insert button or double clicking them. By clicking an item in the scheme one can navigate through a chord scheme. MixerThe mixer combines all four tracks and allows you to mute certain channels with the M-button. The first channel can be put in bypass (via the B-button). A pitch shift slider adds an extra interval to the channel. The range of the shift slider is expressed in half tones which can be quantized by pressing the Q-button. TunerMu Voice comes with a built-in tuner that has a parametric impact (0: no impact, 1: full impact). The tuner has two modes: Chromatic - tune to the closest half note. Scale - tune to the closest note in the current scale.Channel FX:In addition to the voicing configurator, gain control, and pitch shifter, each track has an additional set of FX: Pan: To obtain a realistic spatial positioning, the panner uses interaural delays and an interaural gains that are based on psychoacoustic measurements. The panning parameter corresponds with the angle relative to the listeners nose. Humanizing: When the pitches of the harmonies are coupled too tight, they might interfere and be perceived as a single distorted voice. The humanization parameter solves this problem by adding very slight random pitch variations and an additional delay. Formants: The formants determine the timbre, or color, of the voice. When the pitch of the voice is altered, the formants are maintained. One can disable the formant correction by pressing the green button next to the slider. The formant slider controls a linear scaling of the formants and alters the color of the voice. By shifting the pitch up and scaling the formants, the voice of a woman can be changed to the voice of a young girl. Filters: Mu Voice offers a number of filter presets - high-pass, band-pass, comb-filters, notch filters, and more. Harmonic EQ-ing: The proprietary spectral analysis technique on which Mu Voice is based allows you to control the amplitude of each harmonic in the sound. A number of presets a

Medical Voice Recognition Software Can Present A Difficult Choice

<!-- @page { size: 21cm 29.7cm; margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } -->

Medical transcription companies are generally not ones that have their hands in a number of different lines of business. For the most part, they specialize in medical transcription and have either employees or independent contractors that need to produce accurate output at a large volume in order for the company to be competitive. It makes the selection of medical voice recognition software so important to a company that it can ultimately spell their success or failure.

Medical voice recognition software is much more than simple speech recognition. There are now software programs available to the general public that will do an adequate job of dictation into a word processor. They do have their advantages, but there are many limitations to simple voice recognition software that would make it unsuitable for use by a medical transcription company.

One of the first things that will be a stumbling block for regular speech recognition program is that the huge number of medical terms required by the software is not something that is going to be included. Speech recognition software can usually learn new terms if it is trained, but when it comes to medical transcription it would take far too long to train all of the new words into the software. It needs to come in a form that already has the vast number of names for medicines, equipment and procedures that are necessary to produce accurate output quickly.

Another thing that medical voice recognition software must be able to do is to take regularly dictated speech and turn it into something that can be understood by medical transcriptionist. When you are using simple speech recognition software, you must verbally add things like periods or commas in order to make the text understandable. This is not something that people who are hiring medical transcription companies are going to do; they will simply speak into a dictation machine of some sort and then submit a file. It is up to the medical transcription company to then produce something with punctuation in it. Enormous cost savings would result from software that is able to do this.

Most medical voice recognition software platforms are actually much more than simple speech recognition. Beyond the added functionality of medical terms that are required, it is important for the software to be able to handle many aspects of the medical transcription business. Something that many companies are looking for is the ability to manage workflow and send jobs to medical transcriptionists. When the transcriptionist receives a text that has already been rendered by a back-end speech recognition program, then they will only need to review it for accuracy.

Medical voice recognition software also should be very easy to use for the transcriptionist, and give adequate options for words that are questionable. A good software platform will have the customization options and be easy to understand for medical transcriptionists. The easier it is to use, the less frustrated the transcriptionist will become them faster they will produce output. This will be good for them, the medical transcription company and its clients.
