HP Mini 1000 Laptop Vs HP 2133 Laptop
It seems that Hewlett-Packard is arriving somewhat late to the Netbook game with its Mini 1000, but a similar system has been offered by its business division , the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC since the spring of this year. That model scored points with the best Netbook keyboard we’ve seen and a solid metal construction, but the wimpy VIA processor (and a higher price than other Netbooks) kept it from being a top contender.

HP Mini 1000 PC has a nearly identical design, but in lightweight plastic (its body is also slightly thinner). The large, comfortable keyboard remains–and is the Mini 1000’s best feature–while the CPU has been upgraded from the Via C7-M to the Intel Atom. At $549, our review unit is about $50 more than our self-imposed Netbook price cap, and it surpasses the $500 mark without including a pricey, yet preferred (for a Netbook), solid-state drive. Our model features a 60GB (spinning) hard drive; SSD options up to 16GB are available.
Replacement battery for HP 2133
The differences are more dramatic inside. The 2133’s anemic VIA processor has been replaced by the netbook-standard Intel Atom N270 running at 1.6GHz, backed by 1GB of DDR2 memory and running Windows XP Home Edition SP3. HP included a 60GB hard drive with our review unit; the company says 8GB and 16GB SSD drives, 2GB of RAM, and a Linux OS with a friendly “Mobile Internet Experience” front-end will be available as options.
For networking, the HP Mini 1000 includes 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 radios, as well as a 10/100 Ethernet port. There is also a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a combination headphone/microphone jack, an SD/MMC slot, and a VGA Webcam with microphone. Though the notebook has a VGA monitor output, it uses a small custom connector, so you’ll need to purchase an optional adapter cable to use an external monitor.
The above is something difference between Mini 1000 PC and 2133 PC. In general, it doesn’t mean that this one is better than that one, which is better for us is desided by our different need and different habbit.
