Why is my guitar patch-cord/pickups picking up sound from my earphones?
I record in Audacity using my earphones and my guitar (connected to my mic input using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter).
When I play music quietly on my headphones, I play along to the music using my guitar. When I listened back to only my recording of my guitar, I can hear the music I playing along with in my recording. Sometimes its in the background, sometimes its really loud, somethings it distorts everything.
Why do you think this is happening? Do you think my patch cord and microphone are interfering?
Are you using the multi-track recording function?.
Here's how to set it up:
Multi-track recording setup:
Version 1.2 via File menu, version 1.3 via Edit menu.
Preferences / Audio I/O tab and check:
"play other tracks while recording new one".
Import the first track then monitor it while recording subsequent track/s.
It's best to use headphones while doing this.
