Are You Seriously Thinking About Installing Your Own Home Theater?
The home media market today has far surpassed many of us when it comes to the correct installation of these products. The days when you went to the store and bought a television, brought it home and plugged it up are long gone. At Home Theatre Dallas we specialize in the installation of your new home theater equipment, anything from whole house audio, media rooms, surround sound, outdoor speakers, flat screen TV’s and high-end projectors.
If your better half in an interior designer like mine is then the amount of HGTV you watch is close to sickening but one thing I notice is that the flat screen televisions are almost always installed without instruction. When the finished product is shown at the end of a program the flat screen is magically mounted in place. There is a reason for this, the variables are so great that not everyone can install them correctly, not everyone can paint correctly either but the margin for error is greatly reduced.
We have moved into a new era for the ‘Do It Yourselfer’, home electronics are way beyond the old school products that people could figure out. The phrases for the plugs have gone beyond most, like HDMI cables, RG45 and CAT 5 cable. When I was younger it was an AC/DC plug or just plain speaker wire. The flat panel TV’s can be retro fitted on the wall where the cables are run down the wall for a smooth finish. This means cutting through the drywall, installing retro rings but first finding out the best possible route to avoid fire blocks or any other obstacles that may hinder the install process. Inwall or ceiling speakers require cutting holes and running wires throughout the attic and possibly dropping down a wall to reach a speaker. The experienced installers at Home Theatre Dallas have seen just about everything and will know how to handle a problem if the install does not go as smooth as planned.
If you purchased a new home and the builder had it pre-wired then a lot of problems will be nonexistent but you still want experienced installers to mount the TV and hook up the media products. Some home theater receivers have a mic that is placed in the center of the room and reads the speakers separately through sound bursts to adjust speaker volumes for the optimum sound performance to match your room size.
The bottom line is that after you spend the money on a flat screen television you will need to factor in the cost of installation if you want it mounted on the wall. This is where we come in, our prices are lower than the larger stores where the TV may have purchased. The number of companies installing media products is large, much like looking into a backyard swimming pool, do your home work and find someone you feel comfortable with. A lot of the larger stores do not have the experienced installers you will find in the smaller companies, many of these installers have been in the business for years and decided to go out on their own.
