Headset Mics Over Lapel Mics?
Our church's media ministry is wanting to purchase a headset mic for our pastor, but we're not sure if it is worth the cost & if the mic would be uncomfortable to the pastor. He currently uses a lapel mic. We do podcast the sermons online. Are headset mics worth the extra investment? Also, I do computer training & I currently use a stand mic to record my audio. Should I switch to a lapel or headset mic for my computer screen records? And how comfortable are they?

End the end, choice of microphone style all boils down to personal preference.
The major advantage I've seen to using a headset-style microphone is that many of them come with built-in monitors; great if you're used to hearing your own voice in your ear, not but they can be turned down/off if you're not.
Once fitted properly, I've found that most people tend to ignore the headset-style mics, especially for those that tend to drop their head and try to speak into the lapel-style.
Cost-wise, whether they are worth the extra money is totally dependent on the user. And the cost can vary, depending on the type of pickup.
The majority of the headset style are no more uncomfortable than a standard set of earbuds, headphones, or over-the-ear cell phone accessories. But, I would definitely recommend taking your pastor to a specialty store to try out different styles to match his speaking style.
