Microphone wont change from built in to headset?
Hi, I have a Macbook Pro with bootcamp and windows XP installed on it and I am trying to use my stereo headset with microphone and headphone jacks. When I plug them into the headphone and 'line in' jacks respectively, the headphones work fine, but the macbook continues to use the built in microphone and not switch to the microphone jack. The voice recording section in the Sounds and Audio devices the default device 'Realtek HD Digital input;' which is the default even when there isn't a mic plugged. Any thoughts on how to get the default mic to switch, or disable the internal mic so it will use the plugged in one?
P.S. I dont have the plugs in backwards, like I said the headphones work fine, but the microphone wont switch to the headset from the default built in mic. I didnt mix up the In and Out plugs
When my wife had this problem, she had the plugs in backwards.
