My discus (red mellon) is laying off eggs, please guys i need information about taking care of eggs?
I am really very happy to see my fish laying off eggs, but i am a new discus keeper and i don't have any idea how to handle it and take care of it, i have read many thing in websites but its quite difficult to understand , i need some simple tips to take care of them , like -
1. should i upgrade the food (right now i an feeding them Tetra Bits) ?
2. should i keep a partition in the tank? ( i have 11 discus of diff varieties,2 surpea tetra, 4 rams)
3. frequency of water changes?
4. frequency of tank cleaning?
5. switching on/off lights?
6. how many times should i feed my fishes now so no one attacks the eggs?
please help me with these ...i am very excited and curious about the eggs now....

The babies wont live if there are "any" other fish in the tank. Unless you have an alternate tank to move all of the other fish into, don't even worry about it. Even with a partition the parents will most likely be too freaked out to care for the babies.
Otherwise there are a number of books and website articles about discus breeding. You either decide to breed them or not. It wont work in a community discus tank, so don't waste the effort trying.
