MXL V67i Tube Dual Diaphragm Condenser Microphone $495 In the MXL V67i Tube dual-diaphragm condenser microphone, old school meets modern day mic technology. The V67i mic helps you indulge in the sonic pleasures of a classic vacuum tube and take advantage of today's leading-edge microphone technologies. The MXL V67I tube mic uses an independently selectable microphone capsule system that produces 2 sounds from a single mic; warm or bright. The MXL V67i mic's bright red indicator LED displays which capsule you've selected.Instead of running back and forth to the mic cabinet, or having to buy multiple tube mics, this feature enables you to adjust the response of the mic to the sound source. So, for example, if you have a vocalist with a soft voice, you can switch in the bright capsule to enhance detail and prevent the voice from becoming too mushy-sounding, while retaining the character provided by tube harmonics. The MXL V67i includes a power supply, a 15' 7-pin Mogami tube cable, 15' XLR Mogami microphone cable, and a flight case. |

Telefunken Ar-51 Large Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone $1895 While Telefunken Elektroakustik is normally known for historic recreation microphones geared toward recording industry professionals who can afford the best of the best, the AR-51 tube condenser mic is their first attempt at catering to those with less money to spend, but who still want that high-quality Telefunken sound.Part of the R-F-T Series of microphones, the AR-51 is an affordable solution that delivers amazing tone and ultimate application flexibility at a price anyone who is serious about recording can afford. The AR-51 condenser mic is designed in the tradition of the classic tube mics of the past, utilizing the same circuit design as the classic Telefunken ELA M 251E.However, this Telefunken recording mic employs new cost-efficient manufacturing methods to meet a price point suitable to any recording studio, from major, world-class facilities to voiceover rooms and home project studios. The R-F-T Telefunken AR-51 utilizes only premium components, including a vintage New Old Stock (NOS) tube that has been rigidly tested for noise and microphonics, as in the ELA M 251E. The Telefunken AR-51 mic also features a globally-sourced power supply and capsule, both rigorously tested prior to installation. As with all products in the R-F-T range of Telefunken Elektroakustik microphones, the circuit board has been designed for superior current handling, permitting the amplifier to have full access to the necessary "power on demand" for handling low frequency and transient information. Modifications have been made to the Telefunken microphone's amplifier circuit to optimize the performance of the capsule and a signal path that includes the same European manufactured output transformer found in every ELA M 251 E built since 1960.At the Telefunken Elektroakustic studios in South Windsor, CT, audio engineers have successfully tested a wide range of applications for this large diaphragm microphone. The tube condenser microphone is especially suitable for recording acoustic and electric guitars, piano, and percussion; for drum overheads and close miked drums; and for both male and female vocals. The perfect complement to the company's acclaimed AK-47, the Telefunken AR-51 is a significant addition to any studio's microphone locker. The Telefunken AR-51 mic includes the sameEuropean manufactured output transformer found in every ELA M 251 EVintage New Old Stock(NOS) tubeRigidly tested for noise and microphonicsGlobally-sourced power supply and capsulebuilt since 1960Suitable for many miking applicationsShock mountWooden box |

Sterling Audio ST66 Large Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone $363.99 The Sterling Audio ST66 is a tube condenser microphone that employs a large capsule with an ultra-thin 3-micron evaporated gold Mylar diaphragm. Optimized to capture the most definition and detail from all acoustic instruments like piano, drums, and guitars, the ST66 mic's low-noise GT6205M tube in a Class-A triode circuit provides warmth and detail, adding new dimension to vocal and especially instrument recording. The ST66 uses triode wiring on specially selected pentode tubes to yield low noise and a more realistic dynamic response than their competitors. Its power supply is designed with a load-balancing circuitry that allows cable runs of more than 200 feet with no deviation from optimal performance. Sterling Audio microphones employ several advanced technologies that separate their large-diaphragm condenser mics from the rest of the pack. One of the more important advancements is their Disk Resonator system. With it, Sterling Audio is uniquely able to compensate for the 14kHz frequency roll-off that is inherent in large diaphragm mics. As any good audio engineer knows, this deficiency translates to a lack of sparkle from high-frequency sound sources. Other manufacturers have typically solved this problem by cutting other frequencies and then increasing the entire signal to help even out the frequency range. Unfortunately, this results in increased noise. Disk Resonator Technology incorporates a brass umbrella that protrudes from the center of the diaphragm in Sterling Audio's ST66 microphone. It gently boosts the diaphragm sensitivity to shorter sound waves, allowing it to respond more accurately to those all-important higher frequencies. The result is optimal sensitivity, full frequency response, and a low signal-to-noise ratio. Another piece of audio wizardry comes in the form of the ultra-thin diaphragm membrane made of Mylar. While most modern condenser diaphragms are 6 to 12 microns in thickness, Sterling Audio, in association with 3M, has produced a highly resilient Mylar that measures a mere 3 microns. This allows the ST66 to deliver an extraordinary degree of sensitivity. Requires phantom power. |

The MA-300 gives warm, full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the shrillness and high frequency distortion artifacts that are often encountered with modern condenser microphones. Utilizing hand-selected, double diaphragm 3-micron capsules, high-quality Jensen audio transformers and military-grade JAN 5840 vacuum tubes, the MA-300 performs at a level reminiscent of some of the best loved classic condenser microphones. I have the M-Audio Producer USB microphone. If you are Upgrading from a PC mic then any of the mics you have list will be of great value to you. I chose the Producer USB mic because it has excellent quality for the price. It costs 100$ but sounds like a 200$ - 300$ mic. But I have a Semi pro studio and I have other equipment in the studio than improves the quality.
