How can I convert an xlr microphone jack to a mini plug?
I am good with a soldering iron. Want to plug xlr microphone into miniDV camcorder, but need to match impedances.
I don't want to just buy an adapter; that's too easy 
I want to do this project without spending money. I have the all the wires and stuff I need, but am not sure how to convert the 3 wires in the xlr plug to just 2 wires in the mini plug. So what I really need is some wiring instructions.
They make an XLR to 1/4 adaptor cord. From there, get a 1/4 to 1/8 adaptor. Done! No soldering required! All parts available at Radioshack!
