Is there recording software that allows me to record multiple tracks from different inputs?
I am using cakewalk 9 and I can use a stereo mix record to get both mic input and line in to record at the same time. But is there a way to get these two inputs to record on seperate tracks instead of together? Or is there another program that can do this?
Pro Tools can definitely do this ( http://www.homerecorder.com/product.php?pid=64 ). It all depends on the audio interface you're using. You can use something like the Firewire 410 ( http://www.homerecorder.com/product.php?pid=74 ), Firewire ( 1814 ( http://www.homerecorder.com/product.php?pid=75 ) NRV10 ( http://www.homerecorder.com/product.php?pid=283 ) or Projectmix I/O ( http://www.homerecorder.com/product.php?pid=398 ) to record multiple inputs simultaneously. You may also want to check your audio interface's specs and see how many inputs are available simultaneously or find an interface that is compatible with your Cakewalk 9 software that can record more than one input at a time.
