I need a device to plug multiple mics into a single voice recorder without signal degredation?
I'm currently in the pre-production stage of a radio programme for uni, which is to contain interviews, what would be most convenient would be to place one mic in front of me, one in front of the interviewee (on a table) and away we go.

like that (not that exact one) the recording volume is significantly reduced, and I have to raise the levels in the edit, thus reducing quality.
Is there a reasonably portable device I can buy that will enable me to plug 2 or more microphones into one recording device.
Note: needs to be either 1/4 inch or 3.5 mm jack, i.e. not XLR, for both input and output
You might want to invest in a budget mixer: Behringer makes some decent gear at very affordable prices: maybe something like this:

This will allow you to plug in multiple microphones, plus external effects, and iPods, then mix it all down to a stereo file that you can plug into a computer or any sound recording device.
