Laptop sound with various microphones?
A little while ago i had a headset with a mic on it for chatting on Ventrillo, a voice chatting program.
and how it used to work was, the sound i heard through the headset was that of other people on ventrillo, and through my laptop speakers I'd hear everything else, music, games, computer error sounds etc.
now i recently got this new headset (because the last one broke for no apparent reason.)
The brand is called : "Seinnheiser communications"
and with these all the sound is being redirected to the headphones rather than just the sound form ventrilo, I've tried to fix it myself and all built in programs say the sound is going to the speakers but it's not.
Also, the new headset has 3.5 mm jacks, where as the old set had a usb port.
All i want to do is redirect all but ventrillo sound to the speakers.
You'd have to switch back to a USB headset, which has its own 'software audio device' (and therefore lets a program send sound only to the headset).
The internal circuitry in a 3.5mm jack causes the speakers to be entirely bypassed. Without a separate audio device, programs can only send sounds to one place.
